Whether it’s a crime thriller, romance, early evening series or a literary film adaptation: Schleswig-Holstein (SH) is a popular film location. And that for a very long time. A show in the state archive is now dedicated to the SH film set.
Schleswig – “Country Doctor”, “Immenhof”, “Tatort” or “Nosferatu”: In Schleswig-Holstein, films and series are made over and over again.
As early as 1921, scenes from the horror film “Nosferatu” were filmed in Lübeck, Lauenburg and on Sylt under the direction of Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau. Since then, films and early evening series have been made in the northernmost state again and again. A new show in the state archive in Schleswig will illuminate 100 years of the Schleswig-Holstein film set from Thursday. The exhibition “Vacation Location – Crime Scene – Filming Location! 100 Years of the Schleswig-Holstein Film Set ”is intended to span an arc from the creation of the films to their archiving for the future.
From photos to fan articles
According to the State Archives, the exhibition was made possible by the passion for collecting of the Schleswig photographer and author Kai Labrenz. He has been accompanying filming in Schleswig-Holstein with his camera since 1992. Labrenz has donated a large part of his collection to the State Archives. The archive announced that it was possible to fall back on a rich pool of photographs, press kits, props, posters and fan articles when designing the exhibition.
In addition, a diverse accompanying program will offer further insights into the “Film Land Schleswig-Holstein”. In addition to lectures, there are, according to the information, film screenings in the state archive and in the Schleswig Capitol cinema. Interested parties can also go on a search for clues with film connoisseur Labrenz and discover filming locations. There are also guided tours through the exhibition dpa
