Beatrix von Schönburg-Glauchau was born in Hungary in 1930 and was great-granddaughter of the statesman and social reformer István Graf von Széchenyi (68, † 1860). In 1956 she fled the communists to Germany and one year later married the journalist Joachim Graf Schönburg-Glauchau (69, † 1998).
