Google Goggles , the augmented reality application for Android and iPhone mobile phones that allows information on texts, monuments and works of art to be obtained from an image captured with the smartphone camera, has just launched a new version.
Google Goggles 1.3 is faster, smarter and includes an enhancement aimed at detecting products through barcode recognition, so that the user can search for information about a product or compare prices with the push of a button. Another of its improvements is that, after capturing an image of a print ad in a magazine , Google recognizes it and returns search results about the product or brand, which opens up endless possibilities for online marketing. As if this were not enough, the new version of Google Goggles is capable of solving sudokus in a matter of seconds from an image taken with the camera.
