LONDON – The Queen is dead. She died at the age of 96 at her country estate in Balmoral, Scotland. The funeral of the monarch is planned for Monday (September 19). Numerous people want to travel to London to say goodbye, and some state guests are also invited. But the funeral of the Queen can not only be followed on site. The Queen’s funeral live on TV

The funeral service and the funeral will be broadcast on television from Monday morning, as the British broadcasters ITV and BBC have announced. An exact time when the TV broadcast will start has not yet been published. So far it is only clear that the funeral service should start at around 11 a.m. (12 p.m. German time) in Westminister Abbey.

US broadcasters also report live from the morning hours. CNN , Fox News , NBC News and ABC News plan to go live from the location. It is not yet clear which TV channels from Germany will broadcast the Queen’s funeral live (as of September 13). However, it can be assumed that ARD and ZDF will broadcast a special. RTL also broadcast at Prince Philip’s funeral in 2021.

Queen’s funeral: large parts of the process are certain

Roughly speaking, the procedure for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II is already certain: the coffin of the deceased monarch is to be pulled through the streets of London in a carriage in the morning. The members of the British royal family should accompany them. The funeral service will then take place in Westminister Abbey with a service. The Queen will then be buried. The tomb will be next to the Queen’s husband, Prince Philip, and the Queen’s father, King George VI, according to consistent media reports. The location of this is therefore St. George’s Chapel in Windsor.

Numerous details of the funeral service, the service and the burial are still unknown. However, Buckingham Palace and the Royal Family reserve the right not to comment in more detail.
