Boston – Kelly Andrew from Boston (USA) was already very exhausted when the dog Henry kept trying to draw attention to himself. Caring for her sick baby had cost her a lot of strength. This is what the new mother wrote on Twitter. She was tired and also annoyed. Henry was barking like crazy and just wouldn’t leave the little girl alone.
“He would head-butt the door, go into the nursery, and then stand around. Every time I sent him away, he came back,” the mother told mirror.co.uk today. According to Kelly Andrew, the baby had been ill for a long time at this point – but the parents assumed it was a simple cold.

The mother only realized that the child was in mortal danger when her daughter’s little face turned blue and she stopped breathing. Dog Henry seemed to have sensed the danger. He had repeatedly tried to alarm his unsuspecting owners by barking.
Last night the dog kept breaking into the nursery and waking the baby. She’s been sick, and I was getting so fed up with him.

When Kelly Andrew realized how serious the situation was, she acted quickly. She woke her husband and the family drove to the local hospital together. There the baby was cared for and the airways cleared again. All night mother and father worried about their daughter in the hospital – only the next day the good news: “The baby is much better today and we are at home with Henry, who bravely held the fort all night, although he was afraid before dark,” she wrote on Twitter with relief.
