"He's going to be king, so watch out": Prince George threatens school friend with his father

Prince George will one day be king. A cheeky exchange of words between the Miniroyal and a school friend shows that he is in the picture. What do you think papa, Prince William, thinks of this?

Windsor – Prince George (9) and Princess Charlotte (7) played a central role in the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II (96, † 2022). They followed the decorated coffin with their parents, Prince William (40) and the Princess of Wales (40), their grandfather King Charles III. (73) and the royal family when it was carried to Westminster Abbey in London. For a long time, Kate and William had thought about whether they could expect the children to walk the sad path, but thanks to their upbringing, the personal farewell was possible.

Prince George trumps his peers with a killer slogan

He may only be nine years old, but at least Prince George has a pretty clear idea of who he is and what his future holds for him. According to author Katie Nicholl, the confident response Georgie fired at a classmate who got in his way is testament to this: “My father’s going to be king, so you better watch out,” George would have trumped his classmate in a battle of words.

In The New Royals, Nicholl also reports that George and his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, 4, are raised with an understanding of the monarchy and a “sense of duty.” While the royal expert doesn’t know what that means for a 9-year-old, she does report that the Prince and Princess of Wales are trying not to burden him with too much responsibility too soon. He knows that one day he will be.

Kate thinks it’s important to give her children a “quiet upbringing”.

Kate Middleton and Prince William admire the upbringing methods of Prince Edward (58) and Countess Sophie of Wessex (57), writes Nicholls. Their children Lady Louise Windsor (18) and Viscount Severn, James (14) often stand out because of their restraint or positive attitude. However, they do not share the fate of the Cambridge children: they are neither the focus of public interest nor do they carry a sovereign title. Nevertheless, as senior royals, your parents are at least as busy as Kate and William.

Historian Robert Lacey (78) updated his book “Battle of Brothers” with a chapter on the protagonists of the line of succession and reported that William and Kate told Prince George “sometime around his seventh birthday” about his future role as King of England. “Maybe one day George will tell us the story himself,” he added hopefully. In any case, with Sister Charlotte’s help, he mastered the long day of the funeral with flying colours.
