Windsor – Prince George (9) and Princess Charlotte (7) played a central role in the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II (96, † 2022). They followed the decorated coffin with their parents, Prince William (40) and the Princess of Wales (40), their grandfather King Charles III. (73) and the royal family when it was carried to Westminster Abbey in London. For a long time, Kate and William had thought about whether they could expect the children to walk the sad path, but thanks to their upbringing, the personal farewell was possible.
Prince George trumps his peers with a killer slogan
He may only be nine years old, but at least Prince George has a pretty clear idea of who he is and what his future holds for him. In The New Royals, Nicholl also reports that George and his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, 4, are raised with an understanding of the monarchy and a “sense of duty.” While the royal expert doesn’t know what that means for a 9-year-old, she does report that the Prince and Princess of Wales are trying not to burden him with too much responsibility too soon. He knows that one day he will be.

Historian Robert Lacey (78) updated his book “Battle of Brothers” with a chapter on the protagonists of the line of succession and reported that William and Kate told Prince George “sometime around his seventh birthday” about his future role as King of England. “Maybe one day George will tell us the story himself,” he added hopefully.
