Although different applications decided to add the dark mode interface some years ago, in recent months it seems that the number of apps that offer this possibility to their users is increasing, after the rise of this simple and elegant configuration, which converts the background of an app in black, and in contrast, the fonts or letters in white.
But since it is still quite a new functionality for many brands (for example, Facebook Messenger originally added it a short time ago), it is possible that we run into the problem that this option can be activated in an app for a certain device with a specific operating system, but not for the rest.
This is what happens, for example, with the TikTok app, which has recently added this functionality for iOS (on iPhone), but which, however, still cannot be found on Android or even its desktop version.
If you want to activate the dark mode of TikTok , which will make the text – normally black – turn white, and the lighter backgrounds in black, you must follow the steps that we propose below.
Activating dark mode in TikTok on iPhone
First of all, we must open the TikTok app from the home screen of our iPhone. Then, we must touch the I icon that we will find located in the lower right part of the device.
Next, we touch the three horizontal points located in the upper right part, and we touch the Settings and privacy option. In the Content and activity tab we select Dark mode .
Two options will appear on the new screen: Light or Dark, with a small thumbnail image where we can see how the app would look. You must remember that the Light option is the traditional one, the one chosen by default and the one you’ve always seen.
Therefore, if what you want is to activate the dark mode, you must choose the Dark option. This will immediately change the appearance of the application interface, making it totally dark (that is, white backgrounds will turn to black and dark text to white).
Another way to activate dark mode on an iPhone easily
Remember that iOS also offers the possibility of activating dark mode on an iPhone automatically, which would make compatible applications automatically convert to dark mode when we activate the option to use device settings (as with TikTok, whose option we will find it just below).
In the case of the iPhone, for example, it is possible to activate this functionality 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Or even set it to activate automatically at sunset, or set a custom schedule.
Of course, on the advantages that this option would offer, in addition to reducing problems associated with tired eyes, it can be enormously useful when it comes to consuming less battery on OLED screens , something that will interest you if you have an iPhone X or an iPhone XS .
