After a few years without Apple making significant changes to the home screen of its operating system for iPhone or iPad (known by the name of iOS ), with the arrival of iOS 14 we were finally able to find several new features, possibly being the more significant the new widget system.
While it is true that, for quite some time, it has been possible to access the widgets present in the so-called Today view (the screen located to the left of the first home screen) for quite some time, the company decided to replace the old widgets with others newer and more dynamic.
Thus, with the new update it is possible not only to obtain a greater amount of information when we implement them, but they are available in three different sizes and, what is even better, it is perfectly possible to place them in any area of the home screen, which, without a doubt, is to be appreciated.
Adding widgets to the iPhone home screen
Interestingly, adding widgets to the home screen of our iPhone becomes one of the best and funniest ways to personalize our device. Also, it is quite simple and straightforward to do.
To add them, we must press and hold the home screen until the edit mode is activated. From that moment on, the icons of the different applications will begin to move, at the same time that a “ + ” icon will appear in the upper left corner of the screen, which we will have to press.
Once pressed, a list of widgets available on the phone will appear. Of course, in case we want to find a specific one, we simply have to click on the Search widgets box and write the name of the application.
When we have found the one that interests us the most, we simply have to click on it .
You should keep in mind that most widgets offer different sizes and shapes, which allows us to better control how they fit on our home screen. In case you want to see all the available options, you must slide your finger from side to side . Just when you find the one you like the most, click on Add widget .
The new widget will appear on the home screen of our iPhone, being able to move it to a different location simply by touching and dragging it, in the same way that we commonly do with applications. Now, when we have found the most suitable place, we simply have to click on Ok .
However, in case you want to edit a widget that has already been added, you just have to press and hold the widget, which will show a pop-up menu where we will finally have to click on Edit widget .
