When we have the password autofill function enabled, the moment we are going to log in to a certain web page that we have previously accessed, both iOS and Android are capable of automatically entering the password, so that it is not It needs to be remembered or re-entered manually.
In these cases, it is possible that before filling in this information it is necessary for the mobile phone to authenticate our identity. In the case of the iPhone , for example, simply use Touch ID or Face ID, which will depend on the model we have, or enter the manual code to release and activate this functionality.
However, through the iCloud Keychain , iOS offers us the possibility of accessing all the passwords stored on the device, which allows us to view a certain password when, for example, we need to log into a certain website from another device through which we have never accessed before, and we do not remember what it is.
And in Android something similar happens absolutely. Therefore, how to access this very interesting function, depending on the type of operating system we use? Too easy.
How to find the passwords stored on our Android phone
On our Android phone we start Chrome , the default web browser developed by Google. Next, we touch the three-point icon located in the upper right part of the screen (although in other devices we can find this option in the lower corner).
Now we touch the Settings button in the pop-up menu, and then we touch the Passwords option, in the next menu. It may be necessary to authenticate our identity through a touch or face scan, or by entering our password.
A long list of different websites will appear, each of which will have a previously saved username and password. We simply have to touch the site for which we want to find our password , and then touch the eye icon to view it.
It is strongly recommended to copy the password and paste it elsewhere, such as in our virtual notebook, in an email or in a handwritten note.
How to find the passwords stored on our iPhone through the iCloud Keychain
ICloud Keychain is a password management system developed by Apple, where all our usernames, passwords and bank card numbers are safely stored, and can be easily synchronized on all compatible devices through iCloud.
Thus, when we use Safari it is possible to easily access these passwords, or even automatically fill in the shipping or credit card information to pay in web stores.
And what is even better: it also offers us the possibility of conveniently accessing the stored passwords while we are in third-party applications or on another device, in order to consult them.
To view the passwords stored in the iCloud Keychain, we must open the Settings app on our iPhone or iPad, which we will find, as always, on the device’s home screen.
We touch the Passwords and accounts tab, and then click on Application and website passwords . If requested, we log in by authenticating our identity using Touch ID or Face ID, or by manually entering the unlock code.
Now we simply have to touch the login details of the website where we want to check the password. To copy it, just press and hold said password to open the options. We simply touch Copy , and the password will be copied automatically to paste it in the place we need.
Of course, as we recommend in the previous section, it is advisable to copy it manually in a handwritten note, in a calendar event, in a new note (within the Notes app) or even in an email, to be able to easily consult it again and quickly without the need to recheck iCloud Keychain.
