How to connect a wireless mouse step by step

Although trackpads have become very fashionable in recent years, especially after the launch of Apple’s Magic Trackpad quite some time ago, there is no doubt that mice continue to be one of the quintessential hardware that can not be missing in most of homes and offices with a desktop computer.

What’s more, there are even users who, although they have a laptop, prefer the comfort provided by the use of a mouse. But the advantages can be even greater when, in addition, we choose to use a wireless mouse , since the cable, always in between, can end up becoming a rather uncomfortable element.

It is true that the setup and use of a wireless mouse may be slightly different than a mouse with USB connectivity. And it is that, while with this last option it is enough only to plug it in the corresponding place of our computer (and it will start working immediately), the same does not happen with the wireless device. So how can we connect it and start using it?

Connecting our wireless mouse in Windows

First we must put the batteries in the wireless device. To do this, we slide the corresponding cover, which we will find located at the bottom of the mouse, and insert them in the appropriate place. Of course, in case the mouse we have bought is rechargeable, it will only be enough to place it in the docking station to charge it as long as necessary.

Before you start, remember that it is essential to put the wireless mouse in pairing mode .

If you use Windows 10 , to pair it for the first time we must open the Settings application and then select the Devices option. Right in the left sidebar we must click on Bluetooth and other devices , and then we touch the icon with a + sign that we find located next to Add Bluetooth or another device .

A pop-up window will now appear where we will have to touch the Bluetooth button. Now we simply follow the steps provided by the wizard. Finally, Windows will detect the mouse and add the necessary drivers automatically.

Connecting our wireless mouse on Mac

As with Windows, we must first put our wireless mouse in pairing mode. Then, click on the Apple icon that we will find in the menu bar, specifically in the upper left part of the screen, and touch System Preferences .

Then, click on Bluetooth . From then on, the Mac will search for any device with Bluetooth connectivity that is in pairing mode. In the event that a connection request appears, in order to verify that we want to connect the specified device, we simply click on the Connect button to confirm.
