Under the name of Airdrop we find a functionality that offers us the possibility, to those of us who use iOS and macOS devices, to be able to share files wirelessly with each other with just a minimum of effort, without having to be sending us by mail electronic files or by copying them to a USB memory or external hard drive.
Not surprisingly, it is very common that, when we want to share photos with someone close to us, the most common thing is that we send it through social networks or by email. However, there is a useful option, in addition to being extremely simple and fast, with which you can share that same photo at the click of a button, in just a few seconds: AirDrop . Of course, as long as both people have an Apple device.
Contrary to what is usually thought, the truth is that AirDrop is not a valid option only for sharing photos . It allows us to transfer almost anything that we can share, such as a certain file or even a website so that our contact can mark it to read it later.
But its use goes much further. And it can also be useful to send text from Notes to someone else’s iPhone or iPad. It is even capable of handling information such as contact information, locations that we have pinned on Apple Maps, or playlists, among others.
If you have never dared to use this functionality, or if at some point you have even wondered what that icon that appears in the first place when we want to share something consists of, with blue circles and a white arrow under the name of AirDrop , we explain how you can use it and what options exist for it.
