A PDF (Portable Document Format) file is a file format created by the Adobe company in the 1990s, which captures absolutely all the elements present in a printed document, such as text and images, which can be read-only or editable (for example, if you have an active form designed to be filled out).
It is often used for a wide variety of purposes, although many brands and manufacturers use it, for example, to digitally publish their guides and user manuals, e-books or advertising information.
In addition, it is also possible to edit them as long as, for example, their author or creator has marked specific spaces to add information. For this reason, it is usually considered as one of the reference files in most Public Administrations, because it offers the possibility of inserting editable forms and then physically printing and presenting, or digitally saving and sending them electronically.
Although it is true that, at first, these types of files were specially created in order to digitally handle different documents on the desktop (with a computer), with the arrival of mobile phones they have also become an ideal tool, a hundred percent compatible. But how can we open them if we use an iPhone or a mobile phone with Android?
Opening PDF files on iOS
Whether you have an iPhone or an iPad , the truth is that the steps to follow when opening a certain file in PDF format are not at all different. On the contrary, they are practically the same.
As we have already explained to you from time to time, most web browsers, both desktop and those designed for mobile phones, are fully compatible with this type of files, so that, when viewing and opening them, it is not essential to have of an app designed for this purpose.
For example, if while browsing the web some link directs us to a certain PDF document, the browser (in this case Safari , for example) will automatically open it.
However, in case of having the file as an attachment in an email, in iCloud or in the internal memory of our phone, opening it is also simple: we just have to click on the file, and the system will automatically view it through the functionality Quick View . So simple, yet so simple.
Opening PDF files on Android
In the case of using a mobile phone with Android, the steps to follow are similar to those we follow with an iPhone or an iPad, since Google Chrome (the web browser par excellence of this operating system) or the Internet app on certain terminals with Custom Android (like Samsung) are also able to open them without problems.
But if the file is in the internal memory of the phone, or it is sent to us by email, we just have to click on it so that the operating system is in charge of opening it automatically.
