If you have been using Instagram for a few years, it is very likely that you are with us when we say that, currently, there are quite a few options when creating videos for the profile that we may have on this social network.
From a simple normal video publication (which would be published in our feed as it has always happened), to the story, also passing through the popular reels. And the same would happen with the rest of the users we follow: there are many options when it comes to watching their videos.
But when we want to save an Instagram video , or even when we want to download it to our iPhone or Android , there are actually different ways to do it, since everything will depend on the type of publication chosen by the user.
For example, it is extremely straightforward and simple to save and download a video from our story. However, the same will not happen if, instead of a video story, we have opted for a common publication, since there is no option that offers us the possibility of downloading it and saving it directly on the roll of our mobile camera.
In this case, for example, instead of downloading it, we could simply save it in the Instagram Collections, download it through a third-party application or record the screen of our device to capture it.
Be that as it may, below, we indicate the steps that you must follow at all times.
Saving videos on Instagram through our Collection
It is possible to save Instagram video publications, within the app, in the Collections section. Although the steps to follow are slightly different depending on whether it is a video post or a video reel .
How to save Instagram video posts
In the first place, we must press the icon of the flag that we find located in the lower right corner of the video that we want to save. Once clicked, the video will be saved in our Collections folder (default).
In case we want to choose a different Collection, it is possible to categorize the video that we are going to save. To do this, you can touch Save to collection , which you will find just above the flag icon, which will show a pop-up window where you must press the “+” icon to create a new collection.
When accessing our Collections you just have to go to your profile page, touch the icon with three horizontal lines located in the upper right corner and select the Saved option that you will find next to the flag icon.
How to save Instagram video reels
In case you want to save reels instead of a video publication, you must press the flag icon that will be displayed at the bottom of said reel. However, it is also possible to touch the icon with three horizontal dots at the bottom, and choose the Save option that will be displayed in the pop-up window.
This will save that reel in the Collections folder (remember, default).
Saving Instagram Videos Posted to Story
When it comes to saving an Instagram video of our story and downloading it to our phone, it is as simple as touching the Stories bubble, in the upper right corner of the screen, and just at the moment when we start to see the video of that story. story that we want to save, touch the three-point icon located in the lower right corner.
A pop-up menu will appear in which we must click on the Save option. Then, we select the Save video option to save only that video. It is also possible to save the entire story in a single video. To do this, we simply have to click on the option Save history .
Once the process has been completed, we will receive a quick confirmation from the Instagram app that will indicate that, indeed, the video has been saved on the camera roll of our mobile phone (Android or iPhone).
Of course, you can also adjust the settings of the app so that the stories are always downloaded automatically on our camera roll.
