How to set up and use AirPods for the first time

If you have an iPhone or an iPad, you may have considered the possibility of getting some AirPods , the popular wireless headphones designed and developed by Apple to be used wirelessly with your devices.

Luckily, as we have explained to you from time to time, it is true that you can also take advantage of its technology, advantages and technical characteristics on any other device that is not iOS or macOS, for which the only thing necessary is that it has connectivity Bluetooth .

Since its launch in 2016, Apple has updated the headphones by launching different versions, in such a way that today it is possible to get the first generation (although second-hand) AirPods, second generation and AirPods Pro.

It is clear that their technical differences are more or less palpable, as well as their price, so choosing one or the other will depend on what we need, and the possibilities we have at all times.

Of course, in case you have already decided on some, or even that you already have them in your hands, it is time to configure and use them for the first time . Although it is true that the process is, in general, quite simple and straightforward, it is normal that some doubts arise at first, especially if you do not have experience in this regard.

Charging our AirPods for the first time

Before starting to listen to our favorite music through these Apple headphones, especially for the first time, it is highly recommended to charge them so as not to run out of battery, and thus get a first charge as complete as possible.

At the bottom of the case we will find a Lightning connector, useful for charging. Therefore, before doing anything, it is convenient to load them first. With the help of the Led light located inside the housing we will later know how much battery will remain.

Turning on Bluetooth connectivity

Before configuring them for the first time, we must make sure that Bluetooth connectivity is activated and enabled on the device with which we want to use the headphones ; in this way, it will be possible to transmit the audio wirelessly.

On our iPhone, for example, just press the Bluetooth button to activate it (in case it is disabled).

Activating AirPods pairing

To connect the AirPods for the first time to the iPhone or any other smartphone, or compatible device, it is essential that both headphones are inside the case .

Then, it is necessary to turn the charging case over and press the pairing button , which consists of the small white circle that we will find located in this area. It is essential to keep it pressed until the LED light that we find inside the case flashes amber until it turns white.

Ending the pairing

In our device, let us go to the useful section to Pair a new device . On the iPhone, for example, it will be enough to go to Settings and Bluetooth , and wait for the headphones to appear in the corresponding section, or press on the Bluetooth button from the main menu.

Once we find them, we select the AirPords and, if everything goes well, they will be paired and connected to our device quickly.

From then on, and as long as the case and the headphones have a charge, using the AirPods again will be very simple: it will be enough to simply open the case and insert them into the ears . They will be automatically connected.

Then, if we want to pause a playback, we will only have to remove an AirPod from our ear. And, to resume playback, we will have to put it back again.
