The mobile phone is part of our lives and, as such, it is necessary that we take care of it so that it is in perfect condition , even with days of high temperatures. Although we try (and must) protect ourselves from the suffocating heat in the face of the mobile, it is certainly a different story. After all, sunscreen is made to protect our skin but it is not effective with our electronic devices, of course. So today we bring you some basic but easy-to-overlook tips to keep both your iPhone and Android cool this summer.
Avoid leaving the phone in direct sunlight for long periods
It may seem obvious, but the mobile is just as susceptible to the sun’s rays as we are. While you may be looking for the sunniest spot on the beach or pool to soak up the sun, you have to remember that your phone definitely works best in the shade. Vehicles or places without ventilation are also a problem area for smartphones. Avoid placing the phone on the seat, armrest, or any excessively visible location inside the car, even if you only intend to walk away for a short period of time. And is that smartphones, like all electronic devices, are not exempt from suffering from the heat, because if the terminal gets too hot, it can end up working worse. If it overheats too much it can directly affect the condition of the battery or electronic components. Needless to say, even with the windows slightly open, the cars are real giant metal and glass incubators, so never leave it behind during the summer.
Turn off what you don’t need
Bluetooth, LTE, Wi-Fi, and GPS: If you don’t require these features while you’re away from home, disable them . This will ensure that the phone does not work overtime either in a purse or pocket while you are wandering in gardens or sun-drenched beaches. It will also do well for battery life. Do the same with the applications. Open and unused apps running in the background make the phone work harder, which in turn causes it to heat up. The solution is very simple and it will also increase the battery life of the phone.
Change the screen brightness
For what reason? The mobile screen puts a lot of pressure on the battery, so if your goal is to avoid the dreaded overheating alert, the first thing you should do is manually set the brightness to the lowest level that you are willing to support. This is obviously easier said than done in hot weather and you’re dealing with the midday sunlight, but what you’ll lose in screen visibility you’ll make up for in battery conservation. Also, if your phone has an automatic brightness setting, you will need to disable it; otherwise, the mobile will brighten as soon as it detects a change in ambient light.
Remove the casing
Just as we would not wear a coat or jacket in the middle of summer, our mobile will appreciate that we remove the cover during this time. If you need a case or cover to hang your mobile because you are doing outdoor activities, place the phone inside an Otterbox type cover or similar to keep your device cool and safe. And don’t forget to keep the screen off during the excursion. The case does not help to reduce overheating of the device. Removing it will allow the vents on the phone to do their job properly without blocking, allowing the phone to cool down faster.
Be careful with the water
Especially if we are at sea. Although mobile phones have protection systems under the IPXX certification, most of them do not receive water in a positive way, much less if it is salt water, as it can affect the connectors of the same and be damaged.
