How to use just one AirPod

Although the most common is to use headphones , wireless or not, together when we are going to listen to our favorite podcast or music, on certain occasions we may prefer to use a single headset.

For example, in the morning, while we are making our coffee and we do not want to wake up anyone at home, but we do not want to be so disconnected at all, we may only choose to use a single headset. And the same would happen, for example, with the use of headphones on the street or in public transport, in which it is not very safe to use both headphones at the same time.

We may also want to use the headphones individually rather than together, such as when we receive a phone call, and we prefer to have a free ear to listen to our surroundings.

In the case of AirPods , the wireless headphones developed by Apple , we may also need to use a single earphone. How to do it?

Using a single AirPod or AirPod Pro

As we have already seen, there can be many reasons why at some point we need to use a single headset, instead of both.

And, although with wired headphones the process is as simple as removing the headset that we do not need from the ear, with the case of wireless headphones things can get a bit complicated. But this does not mean that it is complicated.

If you need to use a single AirPod or AirPod Pro , instead of both, it will be enough to simply place one of the AirPods or earphones in one ear and leave the other in the charging case .

Likewise, in case we need to change between them (for example, because one of them runs out of charge), we can replace them with the same ease: the W1 chip present in the headset will be able to detect which one is in use and which one is not, pairing it automatically with our AirPod.

What’s more, when we use a single AirPod, right or left, the stereo signals will automatically be converted to mono output, so that we will not miss anything from our favorite music tracks or from the podcasts or radio programs that we are listening to.

Therefore, in those moments when we need to use a single headset, it will be enough to take only one and leave the other in the case. And, finally, when we want to use both of them again, we will only have to remove them from the case and place them where they should be placed.
