WhatsApp is one of the most popular instant messaging applications. It is no secret. It makes communication as simple as adding a phone number and voila, we can chat and exchange files with that person.
However, in some cases it can be somewhat annoying to have to add a person with whom we have no relationship to the agenda, solely and exclusively for a certain message or even a couple of them . Today we show you how to solve this problem without having to add anyone to the agenda. In this way we avoid filling up our agenda with contacts that we really do not want to have.
Performing this action is very simple and it is executed in the same way regardless of whether our phone is Android or iPhone and it is also free of prohibitions so we do not need to use any third-party app. There are several ways:
Send a message from the browser with wa.me
We open the mobile browser, we introduce the following URL in the address bar: wa.me/34NUMERODETELEFONO , we give it to go; click on the green Send Message button, then the mobile WhatsApp application will open and you will see that a conversation has been created with the person with that phone number. Clever. You can now send a message without having to add that person to your contact list. It is a quick and easy method. Needless to say, code 34 refers to Spain. If you write to someone from another country you just have to write their country code.
Alternative apps
If you think that the method mentioned above is somewhat confusing for you, there are a number of applications – several dozen, in fact – that are mainly associated with wa.me links but in an even easier to use way. After installing the application, you just have to include the phone number you want to write to and touch a button to advance to a new chat. Most of these alternative apps are fairly lightweight, have no ads, and require little or no permission. But using third-party apps can be a sign of privacy and security risk. Also, using unofficial applications can lead to WhatsApp blocking. In Android we can mention Send Whats or Click to Chat, for example.
Text selections
This method is only compatible with devices with Android Pie or Q (Android 10) which was released on September 3, 2019. How does it work? When you have a phone number in any application, select the corresponding text and look for the suggested actions. The most obvious ones will always be Call, Cut, Copy, Paste, but if you explore further, you will realize that there is also another option that says “send a WhatsApp message”.
While these tricks can be quite useful, especially when you want to have a minimal conversation with strangers, it seems that it is time that WhatsApp should consider removing the limitations within its native application in order to perform this action without the need for “tricks”.
