IKEA Mexico is looking for entrepreneurs to add to its value chain

IKEA Mexico is looking for Mexican entrepreneurs to add to its value chain. To do this, in conjunction with IKEA Social Entrepreneurship and New Ventures, it presented the Mexico Accelerator Program 2021 call, with which it seeks to accelerate 10 ventures that have a social or environmental impact through a product, service or job creation.

This second edition of the Swedish company’s program aims to support Mexicans who create a change in their environment through better social, environmental or labor practices.

The acceleration program includes training and capacity building to strengthen the different areas of its business model, so that they can join the IKEA Mexico value chain. IKEA collaborators will provide mentoring to grow the projects.

“We are interested in projects that dare to imagine a present and future for Mexico, think about how we will live in the coming years and what we can modify so that social environments stop being challenges,” said Malcolm Pruys, country manager of IKEA Mexico, quoted it’s a statement.

The alliance of IKEA Social Entrepreneurship, IKEA Mexico and New Ventures will focus on scalable projects that generate quality and equitable employment opportunities. The projects will have the opportunity to attend the Latin American Impact Investing Forum (FLII), the main impact investment forum in Latin America where they will be able to network with the most relevant impact investors in the region.

IKEA has developed several social entrepreneurship programs in different countries and has financed projects in East Africa, Brazil and Mexico.

The call will be open until August 30 and the projects will be financed and will receive mentoring from IKEA.
