Thanks to the “E” in the license plate, parking in downtown Munich will be easier? One person took advantage of the park privilege – but it was not long before a corresponding “tip” was received.
Munich – More and more electric vehicles are on the roads and city centers in Germany. So that the cars without a combustion engine are also supplied with energy, there are more and more charging stations and parking spaces specially designed for the vehicles.
E-car blocks a charging station in downtown Munich for several days
In downtown Munich, electric drivers have therefore – at least felt – a little easier to find a parking space. Because they are allowed to stand in the e-parking lots. But one person in Munich’s Dreimühlenviertel seems to have exhausted this advantage a little too much.

An e-vehicle not only stood in the parking lot of the charging station for a few hours in the Isarvorstadt, but apparently blocked the e-filling station for several days. This met with the displeasure of a person who must have observed it. She put a clear message on the vehicle’s windshield.
“You have been blocking the charging station for several days,” says the little letter. “Please do not use the charging infrastructure as a long-term parking space and move your vehicle after the charging process is complete,” the clear request continues.
A clear message to permanently parked e-cars in Munich
According to ADAC, there is currently no legal regulation as to whether e-vehicles can remain in the parking lot after the charging process. At some charging stations, however, it is mandatory that parking is only allowed there until the battery is full again. According to ADAC, such a rule should then be on the E-parking lot sign. As can be seen in the photo, this was not the case at the charging station in the Dreimühlenviertel.
Only vehicles with a license plate ending with an “E” may be parked in official e-car parking spaces. Incidentally, if a combustion engine is parked in an e-car parking lot, the driver faces a fine of 55 euros. This rule has been in effect since April 2020. If parking is only permitted while charging, this penalty can also apply to e-cars. Because a fully charged e-car is then seen in the same way as a diesel or gasoline-powered vehicle – not authorized to park in the e-parking lot. (lb) * tz.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA
