Queen Elizabeth II will be laid to rest alongside her husband Prince Philip at St George’s Chapel in Windsor. Two special pieces of jewelry should accompany them.

London – In a few days, the world public will say goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II (96, † 2022). On September 19, the funeral of Britain’s record regent, who has been on the throne longer than any other British queen, will take place in Westminster Abbey in London. The monarch has worn lavish tiaras and crowns during her 70-year reign, but she will only take two pieces of jewelery to her grave.

Around 2,000 invited guests, including politicians and European royals, are expected at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. Following the funeral service, the monarch’s coffin will make its way to Windsor, where Queen Elizabeth II will finally be buried with her family in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. Her husband Prince Philip (99, † 2021), who died in April 2021, will also rest at her side, and the Queen will probably carry a sign of her love with her forever.

As Lisa Levinson of the Natural Diamond Council confided to Metro magazine, Queen Elizabeth will be buried without any showy jewelry and instead with two pieces of sentimental value. According to Levinson, the 96-year-old, who is “an incredibly humble woman at heart”, will only wear her “simple Welsh gold wedding ring” and “a pair of pearl earrings”.

Queen Elizabeth’s large jewelry collection remains in the royal family

According to the jewelry expert, Queen Elizabeth II’s engagement ring will probably go to the Queen’s only daughter, Princess Anne (72). At the time, Prince Philip was involved in the design of the ring, the heart of which is a three-carat diamond, as Lisa Levinson explained to “Metro”.

Queen Elizabeth II’s jewelery collection is said to have numbered around 300 unique pieces, including sparkling brooches, bracelets and tiaras. Her eldest son King Charles III. (73) will have access to the royal jewelry, and his daughter-in-law Kate Middleton (40), who will inherit Diana’s (36, † 1997) as the new Princess of Wales, will probably be able to accept one or the other heirloom.
