Instagram: How to limit your screen time

Limit the time you spend on the app

Just because you can scroll forever within the app (there's no end) doesn't mean you should. If you want to control the time you spend in the app, you can do it with Instagram's integrated daily timer . How to do it:

  • Go to your profile and click on the menu
  • Click on Your activity and Set daily reminder
  • Choose an amount of time (30 minutes for example?) And click on Set reminder.

The app will be in charge of notifying you when the stipulated time has passed.

Another tip we give you:

Enable two-step authentication

As a safe online practice, we recommend enabling two-factor or two-step authentication on Instagram and other social media platforms, either through a unique verification code, an authentication app, or a backup code. In the event of a data breach, this security method will act as a shield for your Instagram account. To enable it, open the Profile section and go to Settings in the menu. Then, click on "Security" and choose the two-step authentication option. Next, click on "Get started" and then choose the security method you want. You will not regret.
