The fact that the author Sophie Passmann spoke about racism in an interview and expressed the opinion that representation alone is not a panacea caused a shitstorm on Twitter.

Sophie Passmann is many things: in addition to her job as a presenter and author, she is on Instagram and shares her life with her followers there. She talks about fashion, literature and philosophy – and often says what she thinks. This was also the case in an interview with the Swiss magazine “Annabelle”. In this article, published on Friday, July 15, she talks to journalist Julia Friese about vanity, social media and also about racism and the controversial topic of “representation” of a certain group, which she criticizes in the interview. In her opinion, this type of discussion offers “zero knowledge value”.
BuzzFeed.de explains why Sophie Passmann had to take a Twitter shit storm for this statement.
