US President Joe Biden has remained a charmer at the age of 78. First Lady Jill Biden is happy. The couple hardly miss a chance for romantic gestures in public.
Washington DC – Since the Biden family moved into the White House, romance seems to have returned to the highest office in the United States. First Lady Jill Biden had the lawn in front of the official residence decorated with big hearts for Valentine’s Day. US President Joe Biden is not inferior to this and hardly misses an opportunity to make media-effective advances to his wife.
Joe Biden had already mentioned his wife, who was also present, in his address to the US Congress, the first after 100 days in office. Jill Biden teaches at a public college, exactly the kind of school the Biden government wants to fund with billions of dollars. He even quoted Jill Biden in his speech. “Joe, any country that will overtake us in education will also overtake us in competition,” his wife kept saying. Jill Biden, had – with a corona-related distance – sat next to the “second gentleman” Doug Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris. Jill waved to her husband and one can assume that under her mask she had a smile for her husband.

On the same day, on the White House lawn, Joe Biden proved that he is still a gentleman and charmer at the age of 78. Biden leaned down and plucked a dandelion for his Jill. The 69-year-old teacher gladly accepted the flower. Then the presidential couple walked on towards “Marine One”, the helicopter of the US head of state, which brought them to the nearby Capitol, where Biden gave the first speech to the US Congress.
The many expressions of love by the Bidens and the public staging of their marriage is in stark contrast to Donald Trump’s predecessor in office. At no point in the four years had he and his wife Melania Trump succeeded in creating a credible, stable relationship based on mutual respect. Again and again, pictures went around the world in which Melania refused her husband’s hand. At times it was speculated that a double of the former model would accompany Donald Trump on trips because Melania herself would refuse. After the 2016 election victory, Melania fueled the rumors by staying in New York with their son Barron Trump and delaying moving to Washington DC as long as possible.

Jill and Joe Biden – a happy couple since 1977
Jill and Joe Biden present themselves completely differently. The couple has been married since June 17, 1977. In 1981 their daughter was born: Ashley Biden. Jill Biden is the second wife of the current US President. Joe Biden’s first wife, Neilia Hunter, died in 1972, as did their daughter, who was only one year old at the time, in a car accident. The couple’s two sons, Beau and Hunter Biden, survived. Beau died of a brain tumor in 2015.
But by no means all of them take away the happy relationship from the couple. Fox News presenter Tucker Carlson, for example, thinks the couple’s marriage is a major PR hoax by the Democrats. And Jill Biden herself didn’t seem convinced at first either. According to an interview with Time Magazine, Joe Biden once had to propose five marriage proposals to her before she said yes.
