In a public statement, Rick Spinrad, NOAA’s Chief Administrative Officer, admitted that this month of July 2021 has been especially striking in terms of heat around the world: “July is usually the warmest month of the year in the world, But July 2021 surpassed itself as the hottest July and month on record. This new record adds to the disturbing path that climate change has set for the world.

The previous record of the hottest month in history since these records were had was July 2016. The combined temperature of the planet’s land surface was 0.93 degrees above the 20th century average of 15.8 degrees .
This average was one tenth more than the previous record registered in July 2016, data that was repeated again in July 2019 and 2020.
At a global level, NOAA explains that there are significant records in this July 2021. For example, in the northern hemisphere , the warm temperature has been especially strong since there has been an increase of 1.54 degrees Celsius. An unprecedented record that far exceeds the previous record in this area of the planet obtained in 2012.
By continents, according to the data for this July 2021, Asia confirmed its hottest month of the year and its history; Europe had the second hottest month in its history, tied with July 2010 and behind July 2018.
The data in America, Africa and Oceania place this month of July as one of the hottest in its history with temperature records well above the average and worrying areas where the registered heat has been historical.
