He really took his time. Kanye West has finally released his long-announced album “Donda”.
New York – The star rapper Kanye West released his eagerly awaited album “Donda” on Sunday with a long delay.
The record, which was released on streaming services with 27 tracks and a playing time of 1:48 hours, had been announced repeatedly since last year, but was never released. This earned the eccentric 44-year-old, who is not known for meeting deadlines, some ridicule and jokes from his numerous fans.
“Donda” is named after West’s deceased mother and comes onto the market just a few months after the musician’s sensational breakup with reality TV star Kim Kardashian. The ongoing divorce followed several apparent breakdowns West on Twitter, where he posted jumbled tweets and also made serious allegations to Kardashian. In 2020 West had also announced his candidacy for the office of US president, but then failed to meet the necessary deadlines in a number of states.
At the end of July, West presented “Donda” to the public for the first time in Atlanta, Georgia. He had the tracks from his tenth studio album play in a sold-out stadium in Atlanta. Videos circulating on the Internet showed him walking around the field of the arena without a word, sometimes pointing to the audience or getting on his knees. The publication on Sunday was the defining topic online within minutes. Many fans were excited, one wrote: “Kanye blessed us with the album of the year on a Sunday!” Dpa
