The Kingston firm is determined to put long teeth on gadget addicts and, incidentally, revolutionize the portable memory market. In the middle of last June, it presented its USB DataTraveler 200 , a 128-gigabyte capacity device that, despite its price -around 450 euros-, made more than one geek blink in amazement. And it is that, in essence, it is equivalent to being able to carry in your pocket the same information that we could introduce in some 27 typical DVDs of a layer. Well now, with your DataTraveler 300 you double that power. The device measures just over 70mm long, but stores up to 256GB – enough to make a photo album of 51,000 high-resolution images – and has a data transfer rate of 20MB / s in read mode and 10MB / s in writing.
The developers praise its benefits as an additional memory unit for netbook users and highlight its five-year warranty and the possibility of safeguarding data using Password Traveler software, which allows documents to be protected in a private area. Of course, the price slightly exceeds 650 euros.
