“My absolute rock in the surf”: The former professional cyclist has been in a relationship with his partner Anna Hansen since 2008. Armstrong’s absolute low point in his career also fell during the relationship.
Berlin – Former US cycling star Lance Armstrong (50) married his partner Anna Hansen. The cyclist and yoga teacher shared photos of their wedding ceremony in a joint Instagram post. They gave a winery in Provence, France, as the place for the celebration.
“Best day ever. I married the love of my life,” Armstrong wrote. It was “something very special” that her children were present at the wedding. There was much laughter and tears of joy that evening.
Armstrong added a declaration of love to his wife: “Anna, you have been my absolute rock for the past 14 years and I have to say quite clearly that I would not have survived them without you. I’m so proud of the couple we’ve become – we had to work for it, work really hard, and I’m so glad we did. I love you more than anything and will always be there for you and our family.”
Armstrong’s low point in his career fell during the relationship
Armstrong and Hansen have been a couple since 2008 and got engaged in 2017. The low point in the career of the former cycling star also fell during their relationship. A year later, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, he first admitted to having taken performance-enhancing substances.
The professional cyclist has a son (22) and two twin daughters (20) from his first marriage. With Hansen he had a son (13) and a daughter (11). dpa
