William and Kate seem to have had enough of life in the palace. The ducal couple trade their magnificent London home for a tranquil cottage. Moving to Windsor will bring big changes for her children too.

London – 20 rooms, luxurious furnishings and endless space: Prince William (40) and Kate Middleton (40) Apartment 1A in Kensington Palace actually offers everything you could wish for as a royal, but the two still want their previous home turn back They long for a quieter everyday life far away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Cottage instead of palace: William and Kate leave London behind

With William and Kate and their three children Prince George (9), Princess Charlotte (7) and Prince Louis (4), London loses five of its most famous residents. The family of three moved into Kensington Palace in 2013, and nine years later it’s time for a new chapter. According to media reports, the Cambridges want to relocate to Windsor this summer, where the idyllic Adelaide Cottage awaits them.

Many royal pundits have welcomed William and Kate’s upcoming move. Author Ingrid Seward (74) believes that the royal offspring will feel particularly comfortable in Windsor. “I think Wills and Kate need space to raise their kids. Kensington Palace is a magnificent prison for children – they want to be able to play football without being watched,” she told The Sun.

‘Lots of freedom’: William and Kate’s children benefit from Windsor move

Adelaide Cottage, which was last refurbished in 2015, is situated in the grounds of Windsor Castle and is therefore in close proximity to Queen Elizabeth II (96). Kate’s parents, who live in Bucklebury, are also just over an hour’s drive away and are likely to see their grandchildren regularly in the future. Prince George and his siblings, who are due to start school together from September, will have “a lot of freedom” in Windsor, according to Seward.

Even before the stress of moving, the family is said to have treated themselves to a break of several weeks in England. William and Kate are said to have started their summer break on the private island of Tresco. Sources used:
