There was a real bang on the E10 European route. After a sudden snowfall, cars and trucks collided over a distance of more than 150 meters.
Prague – After a sudden snowfall, there was a pile-up in the Czech Republic. Around 40 vehicles were involved in the accident on Thursday on the D5 motorway near Horovice, according to police and rescue services.
Four injured were taken to hospitals by helicopter and ambulance. The emergency services were on site in large numbers.
Trucks and cars blocked the road for more than 150 meters. The scene of the accident is around 50 kilometers south-west of Prague. The motorway that connects the Czech capital with Nuremberg as part of the E50 European route was completely closed in both directions for the rescue and clearing work. A detour has been set up. dpa
