Michael Flynn: Trump confidante invents new corona conspiracy

Donald Trump’s former security advisor Michael Flynn misunderstood a text – and accused the Deep State of a huge crime in the United States.

USA – Michael Flynn now lives in a world of his own. The man, who was once Donald Trump’s security advisor, fabricated one conspiracy tale after another in these weeks and months. And whenever it seems that the highest degree of absurdity has finally been reached, Flynn puts another on top.

So now Flynn claims that the medical establishment plans to secretly add the corona vaccines to salad dressings anytime soon. Behind this is allegedly the so-called Deep State, which, according to most right-wingers in the USA, is secretly pulling the strings past the governments and above all wants to attack the Republicans. Especially during Donald Trump’s tenure, the party complained that the covert state in the state had made it impossible for them to govern properly. So now those unwilling to be vaccinated should be taken by surprise.

Michael Flynn and the corona vaccines in salad dressings

Michael Flynn, who always likes to dive into the depths of QAnon, brought up his latest myth in a right-wing internet show. His forum was well chosen. The absurd show is dedicated to the two currently most popular conspiracy narratives of the right. The discussions about the coronavirus will probably only be surpassed by the talks about the allegedly large-scale electoral fraud of the Democrats, which, according to the conspiracy believers, cost Donald Trump the White House. In the end, the Deep State was probably to blame for that too.

“Somebody sent me something this morning about putting the vaccine in salad dressing,” Flynn began quite harmlessly, before suddenly screaming scream and murder. “Did you see that? That’s – it can only be the bizarre world, right? ”Flynn yelled. “This is definitely the bizarro world … these people are seriously thinking about how to impose their will on us in our society, and that has to stop.”

Corona vaccines: Michael Flynn misunderstands articles

Michael Flynn, who has also called for a violent military coup in the United States, was referring to an article he had read shortly before. But now Flynn has apparently misunderstood the text he was quoting somewhat. As fact checker Mike Rothschild explained on Twitter, it is about a pilot study at the University of California-Riverside, where work is currently being done to grow edible plants that contain the same drugs as an mRNA vaccine.

Juan Pablo Giraldo is also quoted in a press release from the university. “Ideally, a single plant would produce enough mRNA to vaccinate a single person,” says the associate professor in the UCR’s botany and plant science department.

There is nothing “to be outraged about,” wrote Rothschild on Twitter. “In return, you could learn something about cool science here that could make vaccine delivery to developing countries easier and cheaper.” Michael Flynn is apparently still a long way from this realization. (cs)
