Mirco Nontschew has died. The actor and comedian died at the age of 52. Now his family and the public prosecutor have commented on it.
Update from Thursday, December 16, 2021, 12 noon: Mirco Nontschew is dead. The actor and comedian died in early December. Nontschew was lying lifeless in his apartment in Berlin when he was discovered. His manager later confirmed the death.
The investigation into the cause of death has been ongoing since then. The Berlin public prosecutor’s office is in charge. At the beginning of the week it was said: “The death investigation has not yet been completed,” said spokesman Martin Steltner at the request of the German Press Agency. “We cannot comment on this at the moment.” With regard to the cause of death, the police had already stated shortly after they found Nontschew that so far there was nothing to indicate a foreign fault.

Recently, speculations and rumors about the death of Mirco Nonchev have been circulating again and again. For example, the actor’s manager brought one of them into circulation through the Bild newspaper. Bertram Riedel stated in the report that Nontschew died of natural causes. This has so far not been confirmed by any information from the police or the public prosecutor’s office. The family of the deceased had recently turned to the public about this – and asked to “respect privacy” (see update of December 14, 2021, 3 p.m.).
Update from Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, 3 p.m.: Numerous days after the surprising death of the actor Mirco Nontschew, his family has now spoken out. “Even if the mourning for Mirco is overshadowing everything at the moment, the many dear words from his friends and companions are a real consolation,” explained the relatives in the RTL program “Exklusiv – Weekend”.
Nevertheless, the family asked the public to “stop speculating about the circumstances surrounding his death” and “respect privacy.” It is still unclear what happened to Mirco Nontschew. According to the Berlin public prosecutor’s office, the investigation is still ongoing.

Update from Friday, December 10th, 2021, 8 p.m .: Mirco Nontschew is dead. The comedian died at the age of only 52. So far nothing was known about the cause of his death. In the meantime, however, Bertram Riedel, long-time friend and manager of the deceased, is said to have spoken out.
He told the Bild newspaper that the autopsy had been completed. “He died a natural death,” said Riedel. When asked by the Bild newspaper whether the comedian had died as a result of an illness or a heart attack, the manager did not comment. “It is important to us that the speculations in the past few days about the death of Mirko Nontschew stop and that the family can mourn in peace.”
However, Martin Steltner, press spokesman for the Berlin public prosecutor’s office, cannot confirm the report that the autopsy has been completed. “The death investigation process is ongoing,” said Bunte.de when asked.

+++ 3 p.m.: After the death of the comedian Mirco Nontschew, rumors became loud that Amazon was rescheduling the planned season of the series “LOL: Last One Tonight”. Nonchev was an actor in it. Amazon has now positioned itself: “The broadcast is planned for spring 2022,” said a spokesman for the Rheinische Post. Nevertheless, the start of the season could be postponed spontaneously, but that is not intended.
Due to Nontschew’s unexpected death, there are no plans to cut him from the series. “It’s an ensemble show where people interact with each other. That would not be possible at all, ”the spokeswoman continued. The comedian Carolin Kebekus had previously campaigned for the originally produced version, including the appearances of Mirco Nontschew, to be broadcast (see update from 8:30 a.m.).

Comedian Karolin Kebekus has now spoken out in favor. “Well, I think it’s a shame not to see what Mirco has done great,” said Kebekus. Taking Nontschew out of the series is not an option, the comedian continued.

Update from Tuesday, December 7th, 2021, 12.30 p.m.: Mirco Nontschew was found lifeless in his apartment last week. Nontschew’s manager confirmed his death (see update from Monday, December 6th, 2021). The cause of death is still being investigated. The police are investigating.
Most recently, Nontschew was seen on the Amazon show “LOL: Last One Laughing”. His former colleagues are now saying goodbye to him with an obituary notice in the Süddeutsche Zeitung. “We have lost a great colleague and a great person,” says the first sentence of the simple obituary. And further: “A gifted comedian who made us all laugh with his many talents and enthused. […] We will carry it in our hearts and it will always put a smile on our faces ”, it says in the SZ.

Most recently, Nontschew took part in the Amazon show “LOL”, and the third season is finished. The spokeswoman emphasized the plan to broadcast the season in spring 2022.
However, she ruled out an early broadcast for production reasons. In addition, she explained that they do not intend to cut Nontschew now from the third season of “LOL”. After all, “LOL” is an “ensemble show where people interact with each other. That would not be possible at all ”.

The Bild-Zeitung reports that the von Nontschew family was already concerned. For days she hadn’t heard from the comedian who lived alone in Berlin. Manager Bertram Riedel had confirmed the death of Mirco Nontschew and asked for consideration for the family of the deceased. The actor leaves two daughters. There are different reports about the time of death. While the Bild writes that Nontschew died last week, the Berliner Zeitung (BZ) quotes a police spokesman who in turn reports that “a 52-year-old was found dead yesterday afternoon”. Initially, nothing was known about the cause of death.
Mirco Nontschew became known through “RTL Saturday Night”
Mirco Nontschew was born in East Berlin in 1969. He had his first television appearance in 1993. Above all, the ability to imitate numerous very different noises with his voice earned him fame. “RTL Saturday Night” ran until 1998. After that, Nontschew received its own program on RTL called “Mircomania”.
He has also appeared in several movies, including “7 Dwarfs – The Forest Is Not Enough” and “Otto’s Eleven”. His last appearance was on the Amazon show “LOL: Last One Laughing”.
