Middle East conflict escalates: Palestinians fire 1,800 rockets
An Israeli army spokesman said that since Monday evening (May 10, 2021) a total of 1,800 rockets had been fired by militant Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The military tries to defuse many of them with an interception system. The success rate of the Israeli umbrella “Iron Dome” is 90 percent, according to the spokesman.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army bombed around 750 targets in the Gaza Strip in the past few days. According to her, these were military targets such as arms factories or the homes of Hamas commanders. The Israeli army estimates that more than 30 leaders of militant Palestinian organizations such as Hamas and Islamic Jihad have been killed in the attacks.
“We are experiencing another dangerous escalation of the situation here – the outcome is uncertain.”
