Mother-daughter team and Labrador find missing man

Thanks to Angelika Simon, her daughter Michelle and Labrador Koda from the Main-Kinzig rescue dog team, the search for a missing person on St. Nicholas’ Night ended happily.

Freigericht – Around 5 p.m. on Sunday evening, the police received a missing person report for a 64-year-old resident of a nursing home in Freigericht-Somborn (Main-Kinzig-Kreis *) with dementia. The man is dependent on medical help and was only lightly clothed – a life-threatening situation at the current temperatures.

Despite the use of a police helicopter with a thermal imaging camera and the volunteer fire brigade, the search was initially unsuccessful. Only the Main-Kinzig rescue dog squad was able to find the severely hypothermic man.
