Apparently DHL is planning a change. It affects Amazon customers.
Kassel – DHL customers have to adapt to innovations again and again. Recently, the company announced several changes for receiving packages. The biggest innovation is probably climate neutrality. In addition, DHL recently increased its prices. On average, the cost of a parcel or a parcel rose by 50 cents. Now DHL has announced another innovation. This will affect millions of Amazon customers.
From Monday, October 10th, Amazon customers can hand their returns unpackaged to DHL. This is reported by the online consumer portal for parcel services paketda.de . An additional shipping carton is then no longer necessary, the normal product packaging is sufficient. In addition, Amazon customers would not have to print out a parcel label.
DHL change: Amazon customers can drop off goods unpackaged
In a DHL parcel shop, customers have to put their goods in a paper bag and stick on a label. The sender receives a QR code from Amazon for label printing. This must be presented in the DHL shop. According to paketda.de , the paper bags with the returns are collected in the branches for up to seven calendar days and then sent to the Amazon returns center. It is still unclear when Amazon will refund the purchase price. Either immediately when the goods are posted in a branch or only after the goods have been received in the returns center.
According to the report, DHL takes a lot of effort for the Amazon returns service. All branches would have to be equipped with mailing bags – and with large boxes in which the bags are collected. It is rumored that the branch operators would receive an additional financial compensation for accepting unpackaged returns. But: According to paketda.de , unpackaged returns are not offered for all Amazon products. If a product is too big or too heavy for the shipping bag, Amazon will require a classic return with additional packaging. The same applies to shock-sensitive and fragile goods. (Jan Wendt)
Amazon also announces major changes again and again. In the Kassel area, Amazon even delivers to customers itself. “100 vehicles from Knüllwald deliver Amazon packages to customers every day. The drivers are employed by six independent delivery companies from the region,” says the spokeswoman.
