Hamburg – we all know it, many fear it. The speed cameras on German autobahns and roads. Not paying attention for a moment, driving too fast and you get a nice speed camera photo with a fine sent home. However, a completely new type of speed monitoring could soon be used in Germany. The so-called Section Control, route speed monitoring, is now approved in Germany according to fnp.de.

In 2018, the technology was tested on the B6 federal highway in Laatzen near Hanover. In the meantime there have been several lawsuits against Section Control, particularly with regard to data protection. However, the Federal Constitutional Court recently threw down the concerns.
