"Have you already bought your ticket for the inaugural flight to Santa Lucia?" This is how the Venezuelan airline Conviasa promotes its new air route between Mexico and Caracas, Venezuela.

The new Felipe Ángeles International Airport will have this flight on the day of its inauguration, scheduled for March 21.

According to its website, the inaugural flight is expected to depart from the Maiquetía “Simón Bolívar” International Airport, in Caracas, at 10:00 am on March 21.

Previously, Conviasa had indicated that this route would be active in the days following the inauguration of the AIFA. But, currently, the flight is available from the day of its premiere.

And the return will be the same day, from the new Santa Lucía airport (Felipe Ángeles International Airport, AIFA) at 4:00 p.m.

Through a statement, Conviasa indicated that “it continues to specify its international expansion plans, in order to cover passenger demand. It should be remembered that last September 2021, during the Mexican Aerospace Fair (Famex), the Vice Minister of Popular Power for Transportation and President of Conviasa, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, reported that the airline estimated to activate the connection between Caracas and Santa Lucia.

In addition to Conviasa, the Mexican airline Aerala is another of the companies that will have international routes from Santa Lucía. As announced in January, although the routes it will take have not yet been specified.
