Patrick Peterson has found a new team. The cornerback joins the Minnesota Vikings and receives a ten million dollar one-year contract.
Peterson (30) is officially leaving the Arizona Cardinals, for which he has played his entire career so far. With the Cardinals he reached the Pro Bowl eight times in a row. He was also all-pro three times.
Peterson joins a young group of cornerbacks who already performed well last year. Peterson is expected to play further outside, as last year’s rookie Jeff Gladney will be mostly in the slot.
In addition, Peterson will play opposite Cameron Dantzler, who last year had the lowest passer rating of all rookie cornerbacks in the second half of the season (41.9).
Considered one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL throughout his career, Peterson was elected to the Hall of Fame’s 2010 All-Decade Team.
Peterson was the Cardinals’ fifth overall pick in the 2011 draft and has only missed six games since his rookie season. Those, however, all in the 2019 season, when he had served a suspension for doping.
