It occupies the same space as a mobile phone and is located behind the interior rearview mirror. The function of the Opel Eye is to read what is ahead of us on the road 30 times per second and, whenever weather conditions allow it, to detect speed limit signs located 100 meters away.
The device crosses the images with a database, and automatically reports the maximum-speed allowed in that section; it even warns us if we overshoot it. The OpelEye’s front camera also allows the driver to be acoustically and visually alerted when they pass the horizontal markings that mark their lane on the road.
