OPPO develops tools that become solutions for users

How is it that companies can update their value propositions and improve people’s quality of life? During the panel “Technology at the service of everything and everyone” at the Inter.Mx Expansión Summit 2022, Pablo Tapia, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of OPPO, explained that as a technology company, they have the challenge and the opportunity to create tools that are also solutions.

An example of this approach is its “Inspiration Ahead” campaign, which seeks to empower people to overcome difficulties with optimism and joy while seeking to improve their surroundings and transform the world in which they live. This creates what he calls a “virtuous circle.”

OPPO: Technology for mankind, kindness for the world

OPPO believes that technology can and should seek to improve the planet; An example of this is its pioneering SuperVOOC fast charging technology that makes charging and the energy you consume more efficient and works on solutions such as the Battery Health Engine, which extends the useful life of batteries in electronic devices.

Recently, the company presented the OPPO Reno7 for the Mexican market, a smartphone equipped with a microscopic lens that allows you to view tiny objects with high resolution, a 64 MP triple camera and a 32 MP front camera. In addition, it has an exceptional 4,500mAh battery and fast charging technology that allows it to be charged to 100% in just one hour.

Under the motto “Technology for mankind, kindness for the world” , OPPO, as a technology developer, considers that it has an obligation to look at itself to create a system in which it is aware of its place in the world, explained the manager. .

Although this philosophy sometimes seems to be a bit against the business model of mobile technology companies, OPPO is working on issues such as reducing the plastic in its packaging by 95% and generating batteries that last twice as long as others. in the market.

“We speak to the generation that is very aware of this; for example, my daughters care that their device can charge in less time because that is good for the planet. Children know that the faster the phone charges, the lower the carbon footprint and, therefore, the less impact on the environment,” he explained.

People increasingly seek to have a positive influence on their environment. “We all have the opportunity to put the issue of sustainability on the table, not as a marketing banner, but as something real and tangible,” he added. In the case of OPPO, technology is a developer, but it is also responsible for making the world better every day.

Decide what information generates value and bring it closer to users

During the panel, Tapia mentioned that technology developers are the true companions of everyday life, the first thing you see when you wake up and the last thing you see before you go to sleep. For better or worse, that generates a lot of information.

The important thing is to know how to navigate that sea of data and decide what is relevant, gives meaning and adds value. An example of this is the analysis of the information collected during the pandemic, when many thought that the mobile device, created to be outside, was going to stop being used while users were in confinement. In reality, people used smartphones even more inside the house, since not all of them connected from the computer to their daily activities.

“You create and develop, fail and try again, but these analyzes or insights are what generate value to put in the hands of users and they will use it again to increase that value and sea of information,” he concluded.
