Orbia increases sales in 2021 thanks to high prices and greater demand for PVC

Orbia achieved a strong performance in 2021, derived from positive results from all its business groups, in particular Polymer Solutions, which focuses on general and specialty resins, and which benefited from strong global demand and high PVC prices. .

"2021 was a year that we can be truly proud of at Orbia," said Sameer Bharadwaj, CEO of Orbia, in the results report sent to the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV).

Orbia's sales closed 2021 at 8,783 million dollars, registering an increase of 37% compared to the previous year, while its Ebitda was 2,047 million dollars and its consolidated net income of 772 million dollars, registering a growth of 55% and 142 %, respectively.

"Our purpose of powering life around the world has been our mobile during times of uncertainty and a global pandemic. Focusing on execution, as well as the organic growth of our business groups and acquisitions, allowed us to close the year in high levels. We achieved a record financial performance of $8,783 million in sales and $2,047 million in EBITDA, results that simply would not have been possible without the dedication of our 22,000 employees to deliver value to our customers and shareholders," added Bharadwaj.

The region that contributed the most revenue to the group was Europe with 35.0%, followed by North America with 33.0%, South America with 22.0%, Asia with 7.0% and other countries with the remaining 3.0%.
