Cologne is setting up gun ban zones at party hotspots. The administration and the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia are reacting to the increased excesses of violence in the city.
Cologne – Attacks against officials, fights, knife attacks: In Cologne * the violent clashes have recently increased. North Rhine-Westphalia Interior Minister Herbert Reul * has therefore taken action and established weapon prohibition zones in the metropolis. These should apply from December 21st and increase the security of Cologne residents. But how is the whole thing actually implemented?
24RHEIN * shows how the gun ban zones are controlled in Cologne.
In addition to Cologne, Düsseldorf * will also introduce a gun ban zone – in the old town. As a test, there had already been gun ban zones at the main train stations in Düsseldorf, Duisburg * and Oberhausen * in June 2021. In 2007, Hamburg was the first German city to introduce a permanent gun ban – on the Reeperbahn and at Hansaplatz. (mah) * 24RHEIN is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
