Pilots and SICT open dialogue on the saturation of airspace in CDMX

The Trade Union Association of Aviator Pilots of Mexico (ASPA) and the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) opened the dialogue to discuss possible solutions to the saturation of Mexico City's airspace.

Through a statement, the union body mentioned that it promised to show all the information and reports available to mitigate the problem, as well as to implement direct information systems with the authorities.

"ASPA de México appreciates the openness of the aeronautical authorities and joins in so that the procedures over our airspace are adequate for the safety of the inhabitants, users and crew," reads the statement.

The agency added that the meeting was attended by authorities from the Mexico City International Airport (AICM), Navigation Services in the Mexican Air Space (SENEAM), the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC), the National Chamber of Aerotransportes (CANAERO), the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the College of Aviator Pilots of Mexico (CPAM).

On Thursday, May 5, the Federation of Airline Pilots Associations (IFALPA) issued a letter to warn its members about the security risks in their approach to the AICM, as a result of the opening of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) .
