The separation from his wife Thea, with whom he was married for 47 years, came as a surprise to many and caused a stir. Also in Markus Lanz’s talk show, on which he was a guest on Tuesday evening, it was primarily about that. In the end, however, a completely different topic came into focus – and with it Helene Fischer and her friend Thomas Seitel.
Thomas Gottschalk: “You stupid nut, you want to sell your newspaper”
Thomas Gottschalk criticized the approach of certain media in the talk show. He has been a public person all his life, but the problem lies elsewhere. For example, if a taxi driver spoke to him, says Gottschalk, he would tell him everything.
“When any lady from any magazine comes up and says, ‘Our readers want to know … they’re so worried,’ I say, ‘You stupid nut, you want to sell your paper. You don’t really care what happens in my life. It only suits you well because Prince Harry is weak and because Dieter Bohlen is on vacation right now. ‘”
At the moment, however, Thomas Gottschalk is again a topic in the magazines, as he could give his still-wife Thea a gift worth millions.

But Thomas Gottschalk wouldn’t be Thomas Gottschalk somewhere if he just stayed with himself. So he found the transition to Helene Fischer’s new friend, Thomas Seitel, whom he – also by the way – referred to as a “poor air gymnast”.
“That’s why I suddenly have the warmest feelings about Helene Fischer,” he said. The reason? This “poor air gymnast (editor’s note, he means Thomas Seitel)”, who loves her with all his heart, just doesn’t understand that women’s magazines also take him to the mangle.
Thomas Gottschalk is alluding to an interview that Thomas Seitel gave the newspaper Zeit in July. Among other things, he complained about the lack of consideration for him as a private person, his family and that untruths would be spread over and over again. For example, he was not a dancer at all, he said at the time, but an “acrobat”.
“ Time never spoke to him and he never spoke to time . But he doesn’t think that what is in the time will reach those (editor’s note. Gottschalk probably means women’s magazines), ”said Gottschalk in a rage and criticized him clearly.
