Charles is the pride of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie. The little Luxembourg prince celebrates his first birthday on May 10th.
Oetringen – In May there is a lot going on in Europe’s royal houses, the offspring are celebrating their birthday! Prince Henrik of Denmark (12), Princess Charlotte (6) and their cousin Archie (2) are not the only royal birthday children who can enjoy the spring weather on their special day. On May 10th, people in Luxembourg will also be happy about the rays of the sun, because Prince Charles will be one year old!
When he was baptized in September last year, Prince Charles already drew everyone’s attention, he probably didn’t notice much of the hustle and bustle around him at the time. In the meantime, however, the son of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume (39) and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie (37) is closely following what is happening around him. A few days before his first birthday, the family of three visited the Luxembourg village of Oetringen in the municipality of Contern, where a special present was waiting for Charles. A cherry tree typical of the region was planted in his honor.
The cherry tree is certainly not the only gift that Charles will receive on the occasion of his anniversary. The Luxembourg Post is issuing a number of special postage stamps reminding Charles of the first year of his life.
