Purpose Driven Innovation: The TCS Approach

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) goes beyond helping companies transform through innovation; it is actually a strategic partner to help companies realize their purpose.

It is a global organization specialized in software and business solutions, which considers Mexico as a central point to contribute to the economic development of Latin America.

One of its primary objectives is to support clients in the region to finalize plans through state-of-the-art information technology services.

The results of the strategy

Rajeev Gupta, Country Head of TCS Mexico, responsible for leading the company’s nearshore operations in Latin America, talks about the company’s vision aimed at building a better future through innovation and contextual knowledge.

“We, as a company, provide our customers with the knowledge and tools to deliver innovative futures that are more inclusive and sustainable for all,” he says.

When TCS shares know-how with its clients, as well as a culture of innovation, the good results that can be achieved thanks to technology quickly multiply. Then customized solutions can be implemented according to the needs of the companies.

In this way, customer projects are enhanced by technological solutions, which translates into exponential growth.

Based on innovation, continuous learning, contextual knowledge and a purpose-driven approach to transformation, TCS is characterized as one of the world’s leading information technology consulting companies.

“As a global business digital solutions company, we have more than 600,000 associates around the world, distributed in 55 countries. Our main objective is to help our clients achieve their purpose through innovation”, says Gupta.

The relevant role of Mexico

TCS began its operations in Latin America in 2002, in Uruguay. Currently, it operates in 16 cities in Latin America distributed in nine countries: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay.

Currently, the TCS workforce in Latin America exceeds 25,000, that is, approximately 4% of the total number of employees worldwide. In Mexico, the company has more than 11 thousand collaborators, distributed in 9 offices in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Querétaro and the most recently opened, Monterrey.

Diversity is one of the priorities of the company of Indian origin: today: 31% of employees are women, and 19% of senior positions are held by them. “We still have a long way to go in terms of equity and diversity, but we are working on it because we are sure that it is the only way to guarantee innovation to our clients,” said Gupta.

TCS Latin America serves more than 300 clients, both local and in a nearshore model.

The company received the Top Employer 2022 certification for the eighth consecutive year. In addition, it is among the top three employers in 18 countries, including Brazil, Chile and Mexico, where it was also recognized this year as one of the Super Expansion Companies,

Gupta points out that the company is fully committed to creating real, tangible solutions for clients, based on the belief that a new idea can be brought to life for the benefit of the community.

“Our focus has always been constant innovation, which is why we are determined to attract the best university graduates to contribute to our world-class projects,” Gupta concludes.
