There are some strange customs with the British royals. The Monopoly ban is one of them. What is behind the strange arrangement?

Again and again there are reports that deal with the sometimes quirky peculiarities of the British royal family. For example, Queen Elizabeth II is said to have banned her relatives from eating certain foods *. In addition, there is allegedly an unusual recruitment test for applicants at Buckingham Palace * that has to do with a dead fly *.
As the British press reported some time ago, the regent also seems to decide what the Royal Family * should pass the time with at illustrious get-togethers – or rather, what they shouldn’t. The popular board game Monopoly is therefore a taboo for the Windsors.

Queen Elizabeth II: family quarrel over a board game?
The curious taboo also made it into the recently released clip “Royal Rule Book: The Royal Family’s Strangest Rules” on YouTube. As it says in it, the ban is based on an anecdote about Prince Andrew * (61) from 2008. At that time, the queen’s son was given a copy of the popular game at an appointment, but had to thankfully decline the present. “We’re not allowed to play Monopoly at home.
