The gates of Windsor Castle remain closed: Queen Elizabeth II seems to be reacting to the ongoing war in Ukraine by canceling a reception.
Windsor – Buckingham Palace had to cancel several appointments in the past few days because Queen Elizabeth II (95) was unable to attend some virtual audiences due to her corona infection. At the beginning of March, the monarch was supposed to return to the limelight, but her first public appointment after the corona disease was canceled.
As the royal family recently announced, on the advice of British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss (46), Queen Elizabeth II decided to postpone an upcoming diplomatic reception at Windsor Castle. Around 500 diplomats from 130 countries should have attended the annual international meeting, which is normally held at Buckingham Palace in London, and members of the Royal Family were also on the guest list.

In its short statement, the palace did not explain why the reception planned for March 2 was canceled, but according to media reports, health reasons with regard to the Queen’s corona infection are not behind it. Since the Foreign Ministry was involved, a connection with the current Russia-Ukraine conflict is more likely. *24royal.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA
