Recovered status valid for longer – RKI with new recommendation

It goes back and forth with regard to the recovered status of formerly corona infected people. First it was valid for six, then only three months. And how does it look now?

Berlin – The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has been known to almost every German citizen since the outbreak of the corona pandemic around two years ago. The authority based in Berlin publishes the official corona numbers, be they incidences or new infections. In addition, the RKI, often in the person of President Lothar Wieler, makes recommendations regarding corona-relevant decisions and measures. This also applies to the recovered status.

You can find out here in detail to what extent the RKI has changed the convalescent status and how the authorities justified this step.*

In fact, the recovered status of formerly corona infected people was valid for six months for a long time. Then January 2022 came and the RKI pushed ahead: the recovered status was reduced by half. Instead of 180 days, only 90 days were recommended. This was tantamount to a great outcry within the population, as many people saw their freedom rights violated. Last but not least, citizens in Hamburg can now breathe again *. * kreiszeitung.de and 24hamburg.de are offered by IPPEN.MEDIA.
