RKI registered 6325 new corona infections

Hardly any dynamism in the infection process: The RKI reports 6325 new corona infections and a seven-day incidence of 81.1.

[Berlin -] There is hardly any momentum at the moment when it comes to infection in Germany. According to the Robert Koch Institute, the seven-day incidence of new corona infections is 81.1.

For comparison: the previous day the value was 81.9, a week ago it was 83.8. The health authorities in Germany reported 6,325 new corona infections to the RKI within one day. A week ago the value was 6726 infections.

According to the new information, 68 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours. A week ago there were 59 deaths. The RKI has counted 4,089,476 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not detected.

The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was given by the RKI on Monday as 1.79 (Friday: 1.95). A weekly or monthly comparison is not possible due to the high number of late registrations.

A nationwide threshold value from when the situation can be viewed critically is not provided for the incidence of hospitalization, due to large regional differences, among other things. The previous maximum value was around 15.5 around Christmas time.

The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at 3,841,800. The number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 92,686. [dpa]
