Rogerio Azcárraga, founder of Grupo Formula, dies

The businessman and founder of Grupo Formula, Rogerio Azcárraga Madero, died this Tuesday at the age of 94, reported the publishing house.

Rogerio Azcárraga was born on June 6, 1927 in Mexico City, where he studied for a degree in Business Administration at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.

In 1968, Azcárraga Madero founded Radio Distrito Federal, the forerunner of what is now Grupo Formula. From having a single station, XEDF-AM 970, it went on to have five in 1984.
